FAITH EDUCATORS

TEACH YOUR CATHOLIC FAITH!

The Splendour Project is determined to help faith educators of the Church - catechists, parents, and religious educators - to continue to effectively fulfilling their roles as missionary disciples in the life of the People of God. We are commending to you the following lessons that you can systematically impart to your learners. The lessons are available in electronic form (.pdf) and are freely downloadable. We pray that this endeavour will be found useful and fruitful for you in your sacred task as faith educators.

We have structured this catechetical journey in such a way that it can cater for the intellectual capacity of both adults and children based on their ages and common maturity expectation. Lessons 1 to 51 constitute a complete cycle, but each of these lessons can be delivered at different levels of comprehensiveness. For catechetical students, all 51 lessons can be delivered in a three-year cycle. Lessons 52 to 63, which are meant to prepare the more mature students for their Sacrament of Confirmation, focus on living the moral life and the imperative of being witnesses to the faith they have embraced. (For adult learners, this cyclical system need not apply.)

[Note to users of the Malaysian Catechetical Series (MCS): You will find that this curriculum has incorporated the subject matters found in the MCS. Rather than seeking to replace the MCS, this curriculum enhances the MCS with more necessary content from Scripture, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, and various other Church documents. It also incorporates some crucial interpretations of Scripture and apologetics to prepare our young people as they are confronted by views that contradict Catholic teachings along their faith journey. To match the contents of the MCS to each lesson in this curriculum, please download this reference document.]
