THE PROJECT
We are a community of friends – clergy, religious, and laity – responding to the call of the Holy Catholic Church for a New Evangelisation through the proclamation of Truth, Beauty and Goodness. Convened by the Rev. Deacon Dr Sherman Kuek OFS in 2012, we came together to string a series of apostolate activities to fulfil the evangelisation mandate of the Holy Catholic Church in a concerted way (ref. Canon 216, 1983 Code of Canon Law). We are not in any way a Public or a Private Association as defined by the Code of Canon Law. |
the mission
Our mission is best encapsulated by the acronym FED, which stands for Formation, Evangelisation, and Discipleship. It is our commitment to reach out to the lay faithful by helping them to better understand and appreciate the teachings of the Holy Catholic Church. Our dedication to constant improvement is relentless, and we put ourselves through a constant rigorous vetting process, enhancing and streamlining our competence so that we may never tire in spreading the Joy of the Gospel.

PILGRIMAGES ORGANISED
PILGRIMAGES
Pilgrimages are common but it is important to understand these sites from Sacred Scripture and Sacred Tradition. The Splendour Community organises Malaysia’s first and only formation-based pilgrimages with systematic and thorough daily faith formation provided by Deacon Dr Sherman Kuek. Daily Masses are included.

MATERIALS PRODUCED
MATERIALS
We produce quality audio, visual and reading materials that nourish the soul. While certainly having theological meat to the content, our in-house theologian, Deacon Dr Sherman Kuek discusses our Faith in an easily digestible way. Materials like these are hard to come by in the region. Hence, we endeavour to make them accessible and affordable.

CORNELIUS CARDINAL SIM
BORN 16 SEPTEMBER 1951, PASSED AWAY 29 MAY 2021
Cornelius Cardinal Sim was, until his demise, the Vicar Apostolic in the Vicariate of Brunei Darussalam. He was also our Episcopal Advisor and beloved spiritual father. We invite you to download the book entitled Duc In Altum: Our Reflections on the Life and Faith of Cornelius Cardinal Sim, which contains reflections written by various members of our community to remember important lessons that we have learned from his life.
This book was published on 6 September 2021, on the 101st day since the demise of Cardinal Sim, after a hundred days of praying for his repose and grieving his departure. In the book, you will find very personal stories about our friendship with him, written with many tears, and many photographs capturing moments with him that we hide within our hearts for the rest of our lives. |
the community
We are a team of diversified talents that tightly harmonise as a whole - an ever-expanding family of theologians, missionaries, media communicators, intercessors and liaison officers. We are ordinary people who have dedicated our lives to spreading the Joy of the Gospel more effectively. But more importantly, we are a community of friends who are intentionally accompanying one another in our journey of life and faith, aspiring to grow together into Christlikeness. Introducing the community:
The compass
The transcendentals of truth, beauty and goodness are intertwined and it is our commitment to incorporate these as the bearing in our everyday lives. There is an innate desire in all of us that longs for these authentic values. It is no wonder our recent three Popes have also emphasised this important quality in proclaiming the Joy of the Gospel. This emphasis reminds us that when the transcendentals are incorporated in our thoughts and actions, we are truly pointing towards God who Himself is Truth, Beauty and Goodness.
