  • Ponferrada - Participate in the traditional pilgrim practice of placing a stone at the foot of the Cruz de Ferro (Iron Cross), symbolising the laying down of spiritual burdens and a commitment to interior penance
  • O Cebreiro - Witness the historic 14th-century chalice and paten preserved from the famous Eucharistic miracle

  • Sarria to Portomarin - Walk through pretty villages and peaceful hamlets, and visit the beautiful Romanesque church in the village of Barbadelo
  • Portomarin to Palas de Rei - Walk past historic Romanesque churches, ancient stone wayside crosses, and quiet farming hamlets
  • Palas de Rei to Arzua - Stamp your credential at the ancient Romanesque chapels and try octopus in Melide, Galicia's most classic dish
  • Arzua to Amenal - Walk through a mix of calm country roads and forest tracks, and visit the ancient chapel of Santa Irene, with its unique statue of Santiago
  • Amenal to Santiago de Compostela - Catch your first glimpse of the Cathedral spires from Monte do Gozo (Mount of Joy), and walk the final stretch into the historic Obradoiro square
